LAKE House - BERGENTHEIM

THE HOUSE

In 2020 we bought a piece of land at a small lake in Bergentheim (Overijssel) with a 1970s house on it. On this plot we will build 4 new houses next to the existing one. We finsihed the first 2: a steel house that we sold and Lake House that we rent out.

Lake House is located at the waterfront on a large forest plot. The house is built in between two concrete retaining walls. The rear wall and chimney were built with misfires (remnants of The Pool House). The front of the house has a glass facade for unlimited views over the lake.

The house is open-plan. The kitchen has a cooking island with bar. One step down is the living room with a wood stove and beamer. To the left of the living room, again just a little higher and hidden behind a wall of plants, is a double bed. The bathroom with 2 rain showers looks out over the double bed towards the lake. Two high single beds are hidden in the kitchen wall behind the kitchen.

At the waterfront is a large wooden deck with a lounge bed and sofa, again with a wood stove. Right next to the house is a hottub! You can run into the lake to cool down or take the canoe at the beach for a small tour of the lake

  • your pet is welcome. The terrain surrounding the house is open

  • Please note:

    • the cabin is located at the water, bring a life jacket for small children

    • in addition to the double bed, there are two single beds built into the rear wall of the house behind the kitchen. The beds are opposite to each other an can be closed of with a curtain. This makes the house less suitable for 2 couples.

    • to the left of the house is a 70s house that we bought 2 years ago, right opposite the Lake house we built a steel house in 2022. We’ve designed and built the houses in such a way that all houses have optimal privacy.

    • In the vicinity of the house is a bigger road (N-road). We have built the house in such a way that the sounds from the road are removed as much as possible. In addition we have made hilly slopes to reduce the impact of sight and sound. If you are sensitive to sounds when outside do keep this in mind when booking

RATES, AVAILABILITY AND BOOKING

  • in low season the rental price is 175 Euro per night based on a stay of 2 persons

  • In high season the rental price is 220 Euro per night based on a stay of 2 persons. You’ll find the dates for high season on the INFO page

  • if you stay with more than 2 persons you'll pay an extra charge of 25 Euro per person per night for the 3rd and 4th person.

  • In low season minimum stay during the weekends is 3 nights (Friday - Monday). In 2023 during the week it’s 2 nights (Mon-We, We-Fri). In high season the minimum stay is a week (Fri-Fri).

  • final cleaning is mandatory and is 95 Euro per stay.

  • tourist tax is 0,90 Euro per person per night

  • babies up to 1 year old stay for free. Please bring your own baby cot or bedding for the baby

  • if you bring your dog (max. 1 dog), the extra charge is 50 Euros per stay.

  • your stay includes bath linen, bed linen and kitchen linen, unlimited use of firewood, canoe, Smit & Dorlas coffee cups, Clipper tea, delicious soap by the Dutch brand Marie Stella Maris (Objet d’Amsterdam), use of the hot tub and basic household supply (olive oil, salt, pepper etc) .

LOCATION

The Lake House is located at Sportlaan 15 in Bergentheim. The Lake House is best reached by car. You can park your car next to the cabin.
